Propagation Properties and Stress Sensitivity of S-PCF, H-PCF and O-PCF

چکیده
Propagation properties of square, hexagonal and octagonal lattice photonic crystal fibers (PCFs) have been analyzed here for both stressed and unstressed conditions. The analysis has been carried out using finite element method. All types of PCFs are investigated here by varying number of air hole rings with same design and operating parameters. The results show that external stress causes PCFs deformation as well as change of propagation properties and this effect is not same for different types of PCFs. We have found that hexagonal PCFs are comparatively more sensitive than square and octagonal for birefringence properties. Furthermore propagation properties of octagonal PCFs remain almost unchanged with the increase of external stress. It is also found that PCFs with lower number of number of air hole rings is comparatively highly sensitive than higher number of air hole rings.

Numerical Analysis of Index-Guiding Photonic Crystal Fibers with Low Confinement Loss and Ultra-Flattened Dispersion by FDFD Method
In this article, perfectly matched layer (PML) for the boundary treatment and an efficient compact two dimensional finite-difference frequency-domain (2-D FDFD) method were combined to model photonic crystal fibers (PCF). For photonic crystal fibers, if we assume that the propagation constant along the propagation direction is fixed, three-dimensional hybrid guided modes can be calculated by us...

In this paper, a fractal photonic crystal fiber (F-PCF) based on the 1st iteration of Koch fractal configuration for optical communication systems is presented. Complex structure of fractal shape is build up through replication of a base shape. Nowadays, fractal shapes are used widely in antenna topics and its usage in PCF has not been investigated yet. The purpose of this research is to compar...

In this paper, we report a design of high sensitivity Photonic Crystal Fiber (PCF) sensor with high birefringence and low confinement losses for liquid analyte sensing applications. The proposed PCF structures are designed with supplementary elliptical air holes in the core region vertically-shaped V-PCF and horizontally-shaped H-PCF. The full vectorial Finite Element Method (FEM) simulations p...

متن کاملLet J pcf
The present note is an answer to complains of E.Weitz on [Sh 371]. We present a corrected version of a part of chapter VIII of Cardinal Arithmetic. 1. J * [a] = b : b ⊆ b and for every inaccessible µ, we have µ > sup(b ∩ µ). 2. pcf * (a) = tcf(a/D) : D is an ultrafilter on a, D ∩ J * [a] = ∅. 3. If |a| < min(a), for µ ∈ pcf(a) let b a µ = b µ [a] be a subset of a such that J ≤µ [a] = J <µ [a] +...
